Drain Cleaning in Miami, FL

A drain that gurgles, backs up or drains slowly is telling you something. We clear the clog and look for the reason it formed.

Clearing a drain is easy. Keeping it clear is the real job.

Most drain calls start the same way: a kitchen sink that holds water, a shower that pools around your ankles, or a toilet that needs three flushes. The blockage is the symptom. Grease, hair, soap scum, wipes, paper towels and food waste build up on pipe walls until the opening is too small to carry the flow.

Plunging and chemical cleaners move the problem a few feet down the line or eat at the pipe while barely touching the clog. Mechanical cleaning removes the buildup itself, and that is what we aim for: a line that drains at full speed, not one that is just passable for a week.

A single fixture that is slow points to a clog in its own branch line. When several fixtures slow down together, or the lowest drain in the house gurgles when you run the washer, the blockage is usually in the main line, and that calls for a different approach.

Signs a drain needs cleaning

  • Water that drains slowly or leaves a standing pool in a sink, tub or shower
  • Gurgling noises from a drain when another fixture is used
  • Foul odors rising from a drain that do not go away after you clean the fixture
  • More than one fixture backing up at the same time
  • A clog that returns within days or weeks of being cleared
  • Water coming up in a floor drain or the lowest shower when the washing machine runs

How we clear a drain

1

Locate the blockage

We ask which fixtures are affected and run water to see how far down the line the problem sits: a single branch or the main line.

2

Clear it mechanically

Depending on the line, we use a cable machine to break through the clog or a method that scours the pipe wall. The goal is to remove the buildup, not poke a hole through it.

3

Check the flow

After clearing, we run water through the line to confirm it drains freely and that nothing backs up at other fixtures.

4

Look for the cause

If roots, a collapsed section or a sagging pipe is behind a repeat clog, we tell you what we found and what a lasting fix would involve.

What affects the price of drain cleaning

A single kitchen clog and a root-filled main line are not the same job. These are the things that change the price.

Which line is blocked

A fixture branch is usually quick to reach. A main sewer line may need an outside cleanout, longer cable and more time.

What is causing the clog

Soft buildup clears quickly. Roots, hardened grease or a foreign object take more work and sometimes more than one pass.

Access

A cleanout makes the job straightforward. When there is no cleanout, we may have to work through a toilet or vent, which takes longer.

Whether the pipe is damaged

If cleaning reveals a crack, offset joint or belly in the line, that is a repair conversation, separate from the cleaning itself.

Why us for drain cleaning

Many Miami homes have drain lines that are decades old, and old cast-iron and clay lines roughen with age, which gives grease and debris something to cling to. We pay attention to the condition of the pipe, not only to the clog.

El Doctor De Las Casas is owner-operated. If your drain clogs again, you are calling back the same person who cleared it, which keeps the story of your pipes in one place instead of spread across a dozen service calls.

Drain cleaning across Miami

We clean drains in Miami and surrounding areas. Houses in Kendall tend toward older lines and mature trees, while Doral has newer homes with a different set of common clogs. Our area pages cover what is typical in each.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use chemical drain cleaner before you come?

We recommend against it. Chemical cleaners rarely clear a full blockage, they sit in the pipe, and they can burn skin and eyes when a technician opens the drain. If you already poured some in, tell us so we can work safely.

Why does my kitchen sink clog so often?

Kitchen drains collect cooking grease, which cools and hardens on the pipe wall, plus food scraps that stick to it. A line that clogs every few weeks usually has a layer of buildup that a simple plunge does not remove.

What if more than one drain is backing up?

That usually points to the main line rather than a single fixture branch. Stop running water, particularly the washing machine and showers, and call us, since every gallon that goes down a blocked main line has to come back up somewhere.

Do tree roots really get into drain lines in Miami?

Yes. Roots seek out water and can enter through joints and cracks in older lines. A cleaning clears the roots that are in the line now, but if the pipe is cracked they tend to grow back, so a repair may be the lasting answer.

Can flushable wipes clog a drain?

Yes. Despite the label, most wipes do not break down the way toilet paper does. They catch on rough spots and joints and form clumps that block the line. Paper towels and feminine products cause the same trouble.

How can I keep my drains from clogging again?

Wipe greasy pans into the trash instead of rinsing, use a strainer in the shower and kitchen sink, flush only toilet paper, and run hot water for a minute after washing dishes. If a line still clogs often, the cause is probably in the pipe itself.

Slow or backed-up drain? Let us clear it.

Call and tell us which fixtures are affected. That one detail helps us tell a simple clog from a main-line problem.
